We, The Miners and Smithers of Runescape, cordially invite you to our Christmas 09 Drop Party. After just recently celebrating our 6 year anniversary, (we were founded in August 2003), we have decided to begin hosting drop parties again. Following the trade/drop restriction updates made in December 2007, we decided to take a break from hosting parties. Two years on, we feel it's time to embrace the Falador Party Hall and host a party to remember. Here are the brief details:

Between 2003 and 2007 we were notorious for hosting huge drop parties. During those 4 years we have dropped hundreds of millions worth of items. Our first official party was on November 28th, 2003 to celebrate thanksgiving:

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is this drop party real? Of course it is real, check out the images to see the success of our past drop parties!

Why is this drop party so much different than the last? Our last party, which took place more than 2 years ago, happened before the establishment of the Grand Exchange and strict player-to-player trading rules. This makes our previous form of dropping (in Al Kharid or other city), as well as system of donating (to party "bank" accounts) impossible. Because of this we are now using the Party Room and a new pledging system.

How big will this party be? Our members are now pledging to drop items during the party, because of this we have no specific drop count or pictures of all the items that will be dropped. However, we will guarantee that no matter what we will drop at least 30 million GP worth of items during the party. This amount could increase at a future date.

How long will this last? Rather than just putting all the items into the chest at once, we will spread the drops out through the duration of several hours. Each 10 minutes we will drop 2m-5m worth of items.

Are you sure this will work? Last October we tried a trial party in which we dropped 16m worth of items. It was a great success which makes us confident this will work. Pictures of the trial can be found here and here.

Will anything else be happening? Sometime during the party we will be hosting a trivia upstairs in the party room. During this trivia a player mod will ask several Runescape related questions, the first person to correctly answer a question will be lent a rare item (Santa's, Halloween masks, and Party hats) for 24 hours. To ensure you see the question the player mod asks, it's recommended you set your chat to 'Hide' or 'Friends'.

Who will announce when trivia is starting? Player Moderators as well as Clan Chat moderators will let you know when trivia is starting. We encourage partygoers to join our designated clan chats to learn more about Masors, get up-to-date party information, and get in the party spirit! (Please, don't spam the Clan Chats!)

How will you be able to tell who wins trivia? There is a specialized team of Masors reviewing each trivia round through frame-by-frame video over and over again. This method is close to perfection. If you were not called as the winner, it is very unlikely that you in fact answered first (correctly).

How busy is the room going to be? Inevitably, the party room is going to extremely busy and spammy. If you start lagging we recommend you switch to low detail and ensure no other applications are open.

Will I be able to get into World 152? World 152 may fill up quickly, so if you want to ensure you don't miss the start of the party we recommend you login to world 152 a reasonable amount of time before the party starts. If you can't join World 152 - just keep trying and you'll eventually get in.

I can't make it, can you change the time? No, sorry. This time is set in a way that the most Masors can attend and make it a success. We cannot, unfortunately, change the time for one person.

Can I bring my friend? Of course! Everybody is invited!

Dang.. I missed it! That vid up there looks pretty epic. I wish I was there! But I use to have my own drop parties/attend them as well. I got 10m at a drop party before. :)
