No, you can't. I don't see how you can possibly assume that just because the new skill will not involve mounts, that it still must involve animals on some level. There are no signs that it involves animals at all. Not saying that it won't, but I don't see how you can assume that it will.
Because how do they know it's not mount riding? Because apparently they've been told that technical aspects make it too hard. That's why I somehow associated mounts with animals. But tbh there isn't anything confirmed exept that the skill will begin with a letter of the alphabet!

Lol, why do you people believe that stuff.. It was a joke and you probably haven't even seen where they posted it. And we know more than it will start with a "b".
-both f2p and p2p
-introduces new game mechanic
-fits perfectly in runescape
-could be a game on its own
Also, Jagex said it won't be mounts because it is to complicated and summoning familiars was hard enough. But maybe this was just to put peoples minds off the idea. But could get pretty laggy in major citys.

How do you know when you don't even have a clue what it is?

I suspect that the key "confirmed fact" is not so much that it fits in perfectly with Runescape as a combination of utilizing a new game mechanic and possibly being a game all to its own. The only thing I can think of at the moment is real-time stuff(e.g. WoW-esque combat), and that is, again, more something I would suspect to see in a minigame than a skill.
I'm honestly just going to wait and see, but I will back up Air Wales in that it will probably start with a letter of the alphabet.
By the way...

soo yea :P
Remember that a number of people are pretty good at making "fake" graphics. I believe someone once "proved" sailing by making their own animation of a rapidly moving "you are here" mark over water on the world map. Turned out to be a hoax, of course, but it did have some people fooled.

Does the new skill realy start with a "B" or was that just humor?

A) Hi Mason,
No it doesn't, it's just a rumor.

However, if the new skill is a money sink, the "middle-class" would be at a loss for money. They would be in need of cash to spend, and by doing so, might even fuel the pyramid scheme Clan Chats even more (with their "Get Rich Quick" schemes), making the rich richer, and the poor poorer. The counter to this is, that this might urge them to go to say, GWD, guided by the lure of 27m Tassets/Chestplates, or even 100m hilts. Doing this could help the economy by bringing in more of the items, countering the inflation. There are some people who say that if the new skill is indeed a money sink, that the rare market will finally crash with the merchants who own them using them as leverage(junk) to get mass amounts of supplies for the new skill, making the rare market crash, and make Party Hats much easier to get over the Grand Exchange. Who knows, though. The RuneScape economy is so volatile, that even the slightest change could destroy it. I heard that when the new quest featuring Nomad came out, some of the smaller rares (Masks/Santas), as well as some Bandos pieces crashed in anticipation that it was the new skill.

To who ever wrote that, why do we NEED a new skill to fix the economy? Many of the new skills have been money sinks (con, summ etc.) I would rather have something different done, maybe delete the ge? and items would rise and fall based on trades but there would be restrictions, wouldn't count if you traded it back and wouldn't be able to trade it back for 4 hours. This would also open up w2 again and make more involvement with other people again.
"I mean, in just 4 days, I could afford a Bandos God Sword at 18m just by doing that."
That guy sucked cuz I made 20m in a couple hours and didn't even get the 5m drop.

Firefox asks:
Will [the new] skill be a money sink?
Answer:
I don't think so. Not in the way Construction is at any rate. It certainly won't be a skill 'only for rich people'
