Do You Think Skills Are Interactive Enough?

What do you guys think about the activity it takes to do some skills? I think that firemaking, woodcutting, fishing, and a few other skills are too easy/boring. The only thing that really matter is that you luck here then there. There is absolutely nothing that really keeps your interest in that skill except a goal or that your doing it with some other people. What do you guys/gals think?

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but I don't see how luck has anything to do with firemaking.
Haha, I like Firemaking though. I think Firemaking is interactive because people ask you what's your level o.O I could be wrong you know.

hi, I need your help, it will only take a second and your assistance is greatly appreciated...
I'm looking for Lady Vicster, she helped me on Legends years ago, and I don't think I had
the chance to say thanks, if you see her please tell her that an old friend (Sleep Dead)
would like to talk to her again, and to add me (Rogue Sleep). thanks

It depends on the skill I guess. Skills such an fishing and woodcutting, are generally more interactive with other players because of where you train them. Other skills like crafting, and firemaking, and probably less interactive as they're not limited to a certain spot to train at.
Plus, some people don't like talking or interacting while training, so I don't think Jagex should change it really.

The commonly referred to: "point and click" debate goes through my mind when I think about how interactive a skill really is. Jagex has been known to get quite caught up with this system, but I feel that they have been slightly trying to loose this unfortunate system.
I see a skill made in two parts; one being the gathering process of the skill, in which you gather the raw materials neccessary in production of a skill. On the other side of the boat, we have the actually skill training at hand. While accomplishing these tasks may both seem to still have that feeling of "point and click", I feel as if the actual preparation of the skill is what gets me going and feel interactive enough to push me towards my goal.
While I hope Jagex does stray from this awkward and boring system through training skills in general, it requires a requires a complex skill to pull of such a feat. Honestly, how else do you think cooking could be anymore interactive?

Well, skills like woodcutting, mining etc. are all the base skills. They're all used to obtain items required for other skills, and so end up quite repititive. As said, skills can be interactive in the way you can interact with players doing the skill around you, like when you are cooking in the Rouge's Den, for example. From the aspect of doing the actual skill however, you do seem to be doing the same things over and over and over again.
But is there really any other way to do it? Jagex are trying to make skills a bit more exciting, but there's only so many ways you can chop down a tree ...
