1. An Unexpected Investigation
To begin, speak to Veronica, who is located in the southern gates of Draynor Manor. Veronica tells you that her husband, Erenst and her were a bit lost, so Ernest went into the manor up ahead. An hour later, Ernest has not returned. She asks you to venture into the manor to locate her husband.

Enter the manor to the north, avoiding damage you might take from the aggressive trees here here. Note that once you enter, you cannot leave the same way you entered through the main doors - but no worries, there is an alternate way to return safely outside.

From the very first room of the manor, you will notice an old set of staircases. Ignore the staircase, and head north, into a hallway that leads east and west. Take the western hallway and enter the first room you come across. Inside this dark room, you will notice a small range, as well as another door that leads into a smaller room. Inside this small room, is a little green bottle of poison. Get the bottle, and return to the main entrance of the manor where you first found the old staircase.

Ascend the staircase to the second floor of the manor. From the second floor, head east into a small hallway, then west into a partially small room with red wallpaper. From here, take an eastern turn to come across a small room which is home to a ghost. Enter the room, and ignore the ghost at all costs, grab the small blue package of fish food from the floor, and sprint back to the entrance of the second floor to avoid any damage from the ghost. With the bottle of poison you acquired earlier on the first floor, combine the fish food and poison to create poisoned fish food.

Upon returning to the old staircase on the second floor, take a west turn, and up a flight of spiral staircase. On the third floor of the Draynor Manor, you will find a roaming chicken, and Professor Oddenstein.

Speak with the Professor, and tell him that you're looking for a guy called Ernest. You will eventually discover that Ernest is actually the chicken that's roaming around in the room. Demand to the Professor that you change him back immediately. Unfortunately, you will soon find out that the machine needed to convert Ernest is broken down. He asks you to find the pressure gauge, a rubber tube, and an oil can to successfully get to machine to work again.
2. The Rubber Tube and Pressure Gauge Required Items: Spade. (Picked up during Quest)
Make your way down to the first floor of the Draynor Manor. From the old staircase, head over to the easternmost room of the first floor. During your walk there, you may encounter several living chairs that follow you around. Don't hesitate, as they do not hurt you.

In the easternmost room, you will find a spade tucked in a corner. Pick up the spade if you don't have one already, then exit the manor via the northern door. While it may seem as if you're in the middle of the woods, head northwest, and make your way around the back of the manor. As you make your way around, you will come across a small compost pile with a plantation of cabbages. With your spade that you acquired earlier before exiting; search the compost heap to find a small, gold key.

Continue making your way around the manor by heading south of the compost heap. You will soon come across a crude fountain on some pavement. Search the fountain to discover that the pressure gauge is hidden inside. Unfortunately, due to the piranhas, you can't grab it. Use the poisoned fish food you created earlier in the manor on the fountain to successfully kill the deadly piranhas, allowing yourself to grab the pressure gauge without harm.

Once again, continue to make your way around the manor grounds until you return to the front pathway towards the manor. Return inside the manor via the front doors to the north, and investigate the room just behind the old staircase. You will spot a small yellow object on the floor, guarded by a Skeleton. Enter the small room by using your golden key you picked up earlier from the compost heap. Dash inside an grab the rubber tube, then sprint out to avoid further damage from the aggressive skeleton.
3. The Oil Can
From the first floor of the manor, head to the westernmost room, and click on the bookcase to reveal a hidden door, opening into a dark room with a ladder leading downstairs. Head down the ladder to the basement of Draynor Manor. Examining the basement, you will notice several locked rooms, red levers, and a room to the west, home to the oil can we so desperately need. However, obtaining the oil can won't be as easy as you think. If you right click on each level located around the room, you will notice that each one is marked with a letter. Refer to this map of the basement with the instructions below to solve this lever puzzle.

  1. Flip levers A and B down, and enter the northeastern gate.
  2. Flip lever D down, and enter the southwestern gate, then enter the southern gate.
  3. Flip levers A and B back up. Enter the northwestern gate, then enter the western gate. Now enter the northern gate.
  4. Flip levers E and F down, then enter the eastern door, and the eastern door once again.
  5. Flip lever C down, and enter the northwestern gate, then enter the western gate.
  6. Flip lever E back up, and go through the eastern gate, then enter the southern gate, followed by another southern gate.
  7. Enter through the western gate, and claim the oil can.

Leave the basement by climbing up the ladder, and exiting the dark room by pulling the red lever beside the bookcase door.
4. Fixing the Machine Required Items: Oil Can, Rubber Tube, Pressure Gauge.
Ascend your way back to the third floor of Draynor Manor and speak with Professor Oddenstein. Hand the rubber tube, pressure gauge, and oil can over to Oddenstein, and he will fire up the machine, sending sparks flying to Ernest. Thus, completing the quest.
